Books for Good is the online and in-person bookstore of the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library. Every purchase helps fund programs and services across Phoenix's public libraries.
Local public library Friends groups have been re-selling library discards and donated books to supplement their fundraising efforts for decades. Our Friends group is no different.
With the Internet came ecommerce, and the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library began processing thousands of donated and retired library books online, raising more and more funds for programs and services at Phoenix Public Library.
In an effort to share our success, we reached out to other nonprofits to host online book sale programs on their behalf. We soon realized there was a need for our own marketplace that would cut out commission and ecommerce fees, leaving more dollars for our own and our partners' missions. Thusly, Books for Good was born.
Our story would not be complete without the heroes who volunteer their time to scan, describe and package hundreds to thousands of books; the generous community donors who give books a second life; and the shoppers who make our mission possible.
